  • Inform a contact/concierge of your arrival time.

At the exit: steps

  1. Find the official taxis and the staff wearing a “TAXI” vest.
  2. State your destination and agree clearly on the final night fare.
  3. Avoid unofficial drivers and unsolicited offers.
  4. Need help? Ask the 2AS service (AIBD Assistance Services).

Transport (9pm–6am)

At the exit you will find official taxis and often a person wearing a “TAXI” vest. Even official drivers may try to overcharge tourists—agree on the price beforehand. Avoid unofficial drivers.

SIM & Internet

  • Operator kiosks side by side: Orange / Yas (formerly Free) / Expresso.
  • Budget pick: Yas (formerly Free). Example: 3,000 XOF → Illimax‑type 1‑month plan: 300 minutes, 24 GB 4G, 100 SMS.
  • Yas’ limitation: network can be weak in remote areas.
  • Coverage priority: choose Orange.

Money / exchange

  • AIBD exchange bureaus: very expensive; commissions can exceed 20%.
  • Exchange a small amount (transport), then use a bank/hotel later.
  • ATMs available but ~70% often out of order → have a plan B.
  • Minimum recommended cash: 50,000 XOF.

Common scams

  • Fake taxis, overcharging, unsolicited “help”.
  • Do things yourself; avoid informal assistance.
  • Beware money changers: scams and fake bills.
  • In case of emergency/need help: ask 2AS (AIBD Assistance Services).
