Terms & Conditions
Merchant identity
Safari Senegal is the commercial name of SAFARI SENEGAL, an individual business based in Dakar, Senegal. These terms apply to all bookings, quote payments and manual payment links issued by the company.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the sale of travel services by Safari Senegal.
2. Prices
Prices are displayed in West African CFA franc (XOF) or Euro (EUR), taxes included, unless otherwise stated and excluding handling/shipping fees.
3. Orders
You can place orders on our website. Contractual information is presented in French or English and will be confirmed at the latest upon order validation.
4. Order confirmation
Any order placed on the website implies acceptance of these Terms. Confirmation of your order implies full and unconditional adherence to these terms and conditions.
5. Payment
Validating your order requires payment of the indicated price. Payment is made by credit card via a secure system or on site depending on the activity conditions.
For multi-day tours and bespoke quotes, a 30% deposit confirms your reservation and the balance is due no later than 7 days before arrival, unless the quote states otherwise (some bookings may be settled in full on confirmation, or in cash on site). The exact deposit, balance and due dates are shown on your quote.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time. The cancellation fee depends on how many days before departure the cancellation is made, and applies to all products:
- 56 days or more before departure: no fee. Any deposit paid is kept as a travel credit usable on a future booking.
- 31 to 55 days before departure: 30% of the total booking cost.
- 15 to 30 days before departure: 60% of the total booking cost.
- 14 days or fewer before departure: 100% of the total booking cost. No refund is issued.
Once a trip or service has started, no refund is due for unused services. For products marked with specific conditions on their booking page, those conditions prevail. Cancellation requests must be sent by email to [email protected] or via WhatsApp at +221 76 406 21 31 with your booking reference.
7. Modification of a booking
Any request to modify a confirmed booking (date, time, number of travelers, pickup point or services) must be sent by email or WhatsApp with the booking reference. Modifications are subject to availability and to any price difference for the new services. A modification requested after the applicable free-cancellation deadline is treated as a cancellation followed by a new booking, and the cancellation fees above apply.
8. Additional fees outside the package
The price confirmed at booking covers only the services explicitly listed in the offer or quote. Any consumption or service not included in the initial package (extra meals, additional excursions, supplementary mileage, waiting time, extended hours, entrance fees, personal expenses or any service requested on site) is invoiced in addition and payable directly to Safari Senegal or its provider.
9. Service delivery
Safari Senegal sells tourism services delivered in Senegal on the date and time confirmed in the booking: guided excursions, transfers, private driver services, group departures and tailor-made trips. No physical goods are shipped. Meeting point, pickup time and practical instructions are confirmed by email, WhatsApp or through the website.
10. Returns, refunds and complaints
As our products are dated services, physical return conditions do not apply. Eligible refunds are processed after verification of the booking reference, customer identity, payment status and cancellation conditions. Complaints can be sent to [email protected] or WhatsApp +221 76 406 21 31.
11. Invoices and receipts
Each booking generates a booking reference and a written confirmation. For each confirmed online payment, a receipt/invoice (PDF) showing the merchant identity (SAFARI SENEGAL, RCCM SN DKR 2024 A 48584, NINEA 011705087), the customer details and the service is issued and made available with the booking.
12. Compliance
Customer verification, transaction security, responsible use and AML/CFT controls are described in our Compliance & Transaction Security policy.
13. Chargebacks and payment disputes
Online card payments are processed by our payment provider PayDunya. If you have any concern about a charge, you agree to contact Safari Senegal first at [email protected] or WhatsApp +221 76 406 21 31 so we can resolve it directly. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank for a service that has been delivered, or that falls outside the cancellation conditions above, is considered abusive: Safari Senegal keeps the booking record, written confirmations, identity and payment evidence and will contest any unjustified chargeback with the payment provider and, where applicable, the competent authorities. Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may also lead to the refusal of future bookings.
14. Cancellation by us
We may, in rare cases, have to cancel a confirmed booking (for reasons of safety, weather, road or site conditions, or events beyond our control). In that case you may choose between a full refund of the amounts paid to us, or a free postponement to another available date. We are not liable for incidental costs you may have arranged separately (such as international flights or personal expenses); we recommend travel insurance to cover these.
15. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control (natural events, weather, strikes, unrest, health measures, official restrictions). Where such an event prevents a trip, we will offer a credit or postponement, or a refund of amounts paid less any costs already incurred with our suppliers that cannot be recovered.
16. Itinerary changes
Our itineraries are indicative and may be adapted on the ground for safety, weather, road or site-access reasons (for example seasonal access to national parks). Minor adjustments do not entitle you to a refund. If a change significantly affects the core of your trip, we will offer a suitable alternative or a fair refund of the affected portion.
17. Travel insurance
Travel insurance is not required to book, but we strongly recommend that every traveler holds a policy covering cancellation, medical expenses, repatriation and personal belongings. We do not sell or verify insurance; you remain responsible for arranging cover suited to your trip.
18. Passports, visas and health formalities
You are responsible for holding a valid passport and any visas, permits and vaccinations required for your trip. We can share general guidance, but we cannot be held liable for denied boarding or entry, or for costs arising from missing or invalid documents. Please check the requirements for your nationality well before departure.
19. Suitability and travelers under 18
There is no strict age limit for our trips. Travelers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult who takes responsibility for them. Some activities (safari drives, pirogue trips, walking) may not be advisable depending on your health; if you have a condition that could affect your participation, please tell us in advance so we can adapt where possible.
20. Third-party suppliers and liability
Some services (hotels, drivers, boats, local guides, activity providers) are delivered by independent suppliers we select with care. We act as an organizer and intermediary and take reasonable steps for your safety, but we are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party suppliers, nor for risks inherent to travel and outdoor activities. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service, except in cases of fraud or willful misconduct or where the law provides otherwise.
21. Traveler behaviour
For the safety of the group, our guides may ask a traveler whose behaviour is unsafe, unlawful or seriously disruptive to leave the trip. In that case no refund is due and any additional costs are the traveler's responsibility.
22. Personal data
We process your personal data to arrange and confirm your booking, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Tracking and analytics on the website are subject to your consent.
23. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Senegal. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Dakar, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection that may apply to you.
