Dakar City Tour : The Capital's Best in One Morning

See the destination guide
Culture

Dakar isn't a city you visit - it's a city you experience. But to really experience it, you need a local showing you the way. In one morning, you'll cross the historic Plateau district, climb to the top of the African Renaissance Monument (52 meters, Africa's tallest statue), discover the Mosque of the Divinity perched on ocean-facing cliffs, and end at Soumbédioune artisan village where craftsmen work right in front of you. Raw, unfiltered Dakar.

What to expect

We meet you at your hotel. First stop: the Plateau - Dakar's historic heart with the railway station, city hall, Independence Square and the presidential palace. We cruise along the small corniche with an incredible view of Gorée Island in the distance. Stop at the Mosque of the Divinity - built on the cliffs, it's one of the most beautiful spots in Dakar (even locals come here for sunset). Then the African Renaissance Monument - 52 meters tall, impossible to miss. Last stop: Soumbédioune artisan village where you can watch craftsmen work wood, leather and textiles. On request: detour to Sandaga market or art galleries. Back to your hotel.
