What to expect
Departure 8 AM from your hotel in an air-conditioned car. One hour's drive and you're at Bandia Reserve - 500 hectares of baobab-dotted savanna. You hop into an open-top 4x4 with a wildlife guide and off you go: giraffes, white rhinos, buffalo, ostriches, warthogs, patas monkeys, antelopes, Nile crocodiles. Every safari is different, but the giraffes always show up. After the safari, the drive between dunes and ocean to Lac Rose - one of the most scenic stretches of road in Senegal. Lunch at Restaurant Chez Salim at Lac Rose, Senegalese specialties. Then: lake tour, Peul village visit, salt harvesters at work. Float in the hyper-saline lake, freshwater rinse. Back in Dakar around 6 PM.

- 56 days or more before departure: no fee. Any deposit is kept as travel credit.
- 31 to 55 days before departure: 30% of the total amount.
- 15 to 30 days before departure: 60% of the total amount.
- 14 days or fewer before departure: 100% of the total amount, no refund.
